Portugal was recently elected as “Best Holiday Destination by plane (Europe)” by Zoover Awards 2014 that distinguish destinations and tourist attractions as well as accommodation in more than 25 countries. The results are based on the reviews from the users of the site zoover.com, with more than 150 million views per year.
Portugal achieved a total score of 9.12 (on a scale of 1 to 10), with special attention to the categories “hospitality” (9.23), “reached by plane” (9.19), “gastronomy” (9.03) and “culture” (9.16 ).
João Cotrim de Figueiredo, President of “Turismo de Portugal” (portuguese turism agency) extols that “Tourism is a plan of our country and that this recognition as the best holiday destination by plane in Europe is the result of excellence in the promotion of Portugal, whose reputation has been consolidated in a sustained manner. ”
The Zoover Awards elects the best accommodation in Europe, as well as the best and most popular destinations worldwide. The awards ceremony took place last Thursday in Amsterdam, the headquarters of the Telegraaf, the largest daily newspaper in the Netherlands.
